Throwback to early 2022 when we were appointed main contractor by Midton to carry out the building-erection, and all groundworks and utilities for a new, purpose-built machine shop and recycling facility.

‍

Due to the time of year, weather and supply-chain issues, this project had its challenges. However, after some long days and nights this project was successfully handed over to the Midton team within its timeframe.

‍

As with all projects, ground work comes first. This one involved a large volume of earth removal with the help of plant hire from D A MacDonald Contractors Ltd. and all haulage needs being met by A & L McCrae Ltd.

‍

With a floor area of 400sq metres and over 150 cube of structural concrete needed, this was no small task! However, the site’s close proximity to G McNaughton & Son's concrete batching plant made things a lot easier.

‍

With the groundwork stage complete, it was time for Fair Buildings Ltd. to start the structural steel and cladding. After a successful fortnight on site, the building stage of the superstructure was completed to a very high standard.

‍

This now meant that all major milestones had been accomplished, and finer details (doors/fire exits, rainwater goods & landscaping), and the demobilisation from site were now ready to begin.
